The Marshall VS100H is the 100 W head in Marshall's Valvestate range, pairing an ECC83 valve preamp stage with a solid-state power section rated at 100 W RMS into 4 Ohm. It has three footswitchable channels, Clean, Overdrive 1 and Overdrive 2, with separate reverb levels for the clean and overdrive channels and a Power Dimension switch that emulates the saturation of a driven valve power stage at lower volume. The rear panel has two loudspeaker jacks with a 4 Ohm minimum load, effects send and return, and a DI output with speaker emulation.

The Technics SL-1210MK2 is a quartz direct-drive turntable with a brushless DC motor and an aluminium die-cast platter 33.2 cm across weighing 2 kg. It runs at 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, produces 1.5 kg-cm of starting torque and reaches 33 1/3 rpm in 0.7 seconds from standstill. Pitch is adjusted by about plus or minus 8% under quartz-locked control, which is what makes the deck workable for beat matching.
