How does AV equipment hire work?
Browse the catalogue, add items to your basket, and submit a request. We aim to get a quote back to you as soon as possible, including delivery options. Once confirmed, equipment is prepared, PAT-tested and ready for collection or delivery. We support dry hire (you operate it), wet hire (with our technicians) or cross-hire (we deliver to another supplier).
Do you deliver across the UK?
Yes — Birmingham next-day delivery is standard, and we deliver across the UK using our own vans and crew or pallet courier depending on the consignment. International hires can ship with customs documentation. Delivery cost depends on distance and equipment volume.
What's the minimum hire period?
Standard minimum is 1 day for most equipment, with weekend rates (Friday–Monday) charged as 2 days. Long-term hires (week+, month+) attract significant discounts. Touring rates are negotiated separately on multi-week bookings.
Do I need to operate the equipment myself?
Only if you choose dry hire — and only with equipment you're competent on. For anything more complex than basic PA we recommend wet hire (an experienced technician comes with the gear). Our crew are insured, qualified and used to working with clients of every skill level.
Are you insured? Will my booking be covered?
Yes — full public liability (£10m) and equipment-in-transit insurance. We issue RAMS and PAT certificates as standard. For wet hire bookings, our crew are individually insured and operate under our umbrella.
Can I cross-hire equipment for resale to my clients?
Yes — we cross-hire to other production companies regularly. Trade rates available on application. We're used to discreet drop-and-go deliveries with no Cloud One branding so you can present the equipment as your own.
What if you don't have what I need in stock?
Our hire catalogue is the in-house inventory but it isn't our limit. With 40+ years in the industry we have a trusted network across the UK and can source pretty much anything a client specifies — from headline-rider line array systems to obscure broadcast gear.
