The Complete Guide to Conference AV
18 January 2026
Planning the AV for a conference can feel overwhelming. Here's a straightforward guide from our production team.
Microphones
For keynote speakers, a lapel mic gives freedom of movement. For panels, desk mics work well. For Q&A, always have a dedicated handheld.
Screens and Displays
A single screen works for rooms up to ~300 delegates. For larger rooms, side screens and IMAG via cameras become essential.
Sound
Every delegate should hear clearly without turning their head. For rooms over 200 pax, a distributed delay system ensures consistent coverage.
Live Streaming
Invest in a dedicated stream operator. Don't ask the venue AV tech to manage both the room and the stream — quality will suffer.
Every conference is different. Our team will visit your venue in advance and manage the whole production on the day.
